Our Programs
Since the onset of year 2015, we began 'selling' our capacity building services which targeted producers, processors and agro (input) dealers within 2 major Agric value chain commodities namely cassava and aquaculture. In 2016, we included the Poultry value chain and have a growing network of poultry farmers and processors in Ondo and Oyo States indicating interest in receiving technical and enterprise training.
We run an internship program where undergraduate students, youth corps members and post-NYSC graduates interested in learning specific skills in aquaculture (hatching, breeding or processing), various crops management, finished leather goods etc are enrolled. Interns learn to engage technical skills along with enterprise skills to enable them make strategic business decisions
The technical and enterprise training units are currently working to develop/adapt an experiential based training tool centered on applied learning and tailored to build the capacity of producers, processors and marketers within the poultry value chain. The pilot implementation of this tool shall flag off this year 2016 in Ondo State.
Embedded in our training
programs is what we call the
Market Linkage service. GSI Tech
developed what is called the
Market Qualifying System (MQS)
which essentially qualifies
individuals who not only attend
our technical and enterprise
training but also adopt good
agricultural and business
practices. According to the
system, our technical team follow
up with clients signed up for
service(s) to provide technical
support and track quality as
required.
Clients on this platform must
satisfy our requirement based
on: Quality and Quantity,
Consistently - QQC.
Other technical details come
along with the system which is
currently running for producers in
the aquaculture and poultry
commodities
The AWEIN is a national initiative of GSI Tech targeted at encouraging women involvement in agriculture as a business. GSI Tech zooms in on the women organized in groups to access services available to them through empowering them with skills (technical and business), access finance, affordable inputs and linkage to market. Efforts so far have been run through the commitment of organization funds and in kind efforts of the women
. Women from over 12 LGAs in Ondo State have been mobilized under this initiative
and we anticipate the involvement of external supports in due course; this would promote the replication of this model in other States.
The MADE Project funded by DFID, engaged GSI Tech to deliver a Nigerian Agric Enterprise Course (NAEC) training of trainers for Business Development Service Providers (BDSPs) engaged in States under the Project. This was successfully accomplished and to attain certification and ensure quality delivery, GSI Tech Master Trainer with field support, is engaged in an ongoing provision of mentoring and coaching services to trainers in the field..
